Injection molding from our own hands

Good news from the research focus "Material-compatible recycling of NFRP waste" (IP1/FSP2): Laboratory injection molding machine ready for use! Injection molding of tensile test specimens or prototypes of small components possible.

The retrofitting of the machine with a mixing nozzle is still being planned for the current project phase in order to be particularly well equipped for the injection molding of composite materials. This ensures a more homogeneous mixing of additives such as dyes or short-fiber, recycled natural fibers.

There are also plans to recommission a trade fair extruder from the laboratory stock in order to be able to cover a further stage in the life cycle of natural fiber-reinforced plastics in-house.
