Development of a stationary access system for roof bodies of passenger cars and vans in multi-material lightweight construction with HPF GmbH & Co. KG.

Based on the process and material developments of the joint project LaNDER³, a stationary and modular roof access system made of lightweight materials is being developed for automotive applications. The roof access system, which is stationary and attached to the vehicle, is intended to provide easy and safe access to roof superstructures of cars, vans or trucks.

The basic structure of the roof access system is a lightweight profile system consisting of load-bearing profiles and node elements, whereby the profiles in particular are preferably made of natural fiber-reinforced plastics in order to meet the requirements for lightweight construction, cost-effectiveness and sustainability of the product. Within the scope of the project, a roof access system of this kind is to be constructed, designed, tested and implemented by way of demonstration.
